The word Dinosaur, “terrifying lizard”, refers to a group of vertebrates that are completely extinct today. They first emerged at the end of the Triassic period and thrived during the Mesozoic Era, from 190 to 65 million years ago. Dinosaurs probably descended from reptiles and were divided into two groups depending on their pelvic structure: Saurischia and Ornitischia. They inhabited the Earth in a variety of ecological environments. Some dinosaurs were carnivorous and some herbivorous. Their size varied greatly, some reaching gigantic dimensions. The extinction of the dinosaurs is dated at the end of the Cretaceous Era, 65 million years ago.
All fossils and minerals come packaged in an attractive box filled with kraft or wood excelsior and includes a descriptive card. This presentation makes a great display and a cool gift!
